23 & 24” Morimura Brothers Japan Antique Bisque Doll Pair of 2 Size 6 & Size 10

Description

Pair of Antique Bisque Socket Head dolls with composition and wood ball jointed bodies and dressed in Asian costume.
Both dolls bear the mark for Morimura Brothers of Japan
The larger 24” doll is marked 10
The smaller 23” doll is marked 6
Both are dressed in Asian costume, I suppose the previous owner figured if they originated in Japan the should look like it. Of course they can be redressed if you desire and both molds are fairly gender neutral but especially the larger one.
Both have no damage to their heads.
I will describe each doll individually to avoid any confusion
Size 6 doll on the left in the photos is 23” tall
Has blue glass eyes that are fixed in place.
Has a modern porcelain replacement hand on right and is missing a pinky finger on her antique left hand.
Has a replacement ball joint on left knee.
Legs are painted differently than the rest of the body so could also be replaced.
Size 10 Doll on the right in the photos is 24” tall
Has brown glass sleep eyes
Has a broken missing ring finger, a repaired pointer finger and a chipped thumb all on the left hand
Right hand is chipped at a finger tip and has a pit where the paint didn’t fill in on the hand, and another similar pit on the leg.
One of the socks on this doll has a hole in the toe and needs mending.
Both dolls come wearing the clothing shown.
