Condition: Doll is in very good condition for this vintage. Leather body seems in very good shape. There is some repair or damage to the joint where the bisque meets the leather in one arm. The screws in her knee joints where the leather gusset is, seem delicate, but are working well. Coloring of her face, sleep eyes and eyelids, fur eyelashes are all good to very good....She does have a small color loss (water mark? don't know what to call it) if you can see it on her left cheek, photo number 6, but very slight. The wig has some loss of hair on the top but overall also nice. Looks like it is real (human) hair, and still has some of the original hairdo curls. Her clothes (I am assuming the original) have been hand washed with appropriate delicate soap and are very clean, but the silk ties didn't fare well. Her hat hasn't been washed, it seems too delicate, and of course didn't want to ruin the feathers.

Description

For sale is this lovely and antique Armand Marseille shoulder plate bisque head doll with kid leather jointed body. Her head is mold 370 as it shows in her upper back. She measures 23 inches approximately and is made in Germany. Her mouth is open, with 4 teeth, she has fur eyelashes and hand painted lower lashes and eyebrows. She has sleep glass eyes. Was told by a specialist she is from between 1880's and 1910 approximately, but I am not sure since I am no expert. Her clothes seem original to her as do socks and shoes. Also, cannot affirm. She has an adorable bonnet/hat which is a work of art in itself, do look at the "aigrette" feather detail in mustard color, lovely and very Victorian!
She comes with all you see her wearing, her bloomers with the lace ties, her long beige socks, her leather shoes, her dress and her hat.
Keep in mind that the doll is an antique and comes as she is, she hasn't been repaired that I am aware of and has no major issues, and I am describing her to the best of my knowledge and ability.
