About Bill's Casino:
Bill's Casino was owned and operated by Harrah's Lake Tahoe and was open from 1987 - 2010. The property was named in honor of William F. Harrah and located right next door to Harrah's.
About William Harrah:
William F. Harrah (1911-1978) was a businessman and founder of Harrah's Hotel and Casinos. He worked at various family businesses in Southern California. One of the businesses included gambling called the Reno Game. In 1937, Harrah opened Harrah's Club Bingo in Reno, Nevada. It closed within a month. He later opened another business in the downtown area, with the help of some influential friends, which was more successful. In the 1950's, he expanded to the Lake Tahoe Area. In 1973, he purchased the Holiday Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. He died in 1978 at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota at the age of 66 during a cardiac surgery operation to repair an aortic aneurysm. He was known for his influence to create the Nevada Gaming Control Board along with the Gaming Commission. He was also praised for his positive relations with both his customers and employees.

People from all over the world collect, buy, sell and trade these unique gaming tokens. The first Silver Strikes were won from special slot machines in the Reno/Tahoe area of Nevada in 1992. The tokens have been issued with redeemable values of , , , , , , , 0 and 0. The most common denomination is . Did you know that the older silver strikes have a higher silver content? As the price of silver increased, the silver content decreased. Today, many silver strikes are Clad - brass with heavy silver plating.
