    The Delta Saloon:
The Delta Saloon has been around since the mid 1800's, when Virginia City was booming and was one of the most important cities between Denver and San Francisco.  It's located at 18 C Street in Virginia City, Nevada.  Miners and townspeople alike frequented the popular gambling hall and saloon. It's known as being the home of the "Suicide Table", a gambling table where 3 of its owners were said to have commit suicide because they couldn't cover the winnings.  Recently, the Delta Saloon has been a bar and restaurant with events, and entertainment.  In March 2019, there was a gas explosion which severely damaged the property.  According to the Delta Saloon website, hours are TBA.
    Virginia City, Nevada:
Located about 20 miles southeast of Reno, Virginia City was once larger than San Francisco.  It is home of the Comstock Lode, one of the largest Silver deposits ever found.  The town exploded from 4000 people to 15,000 within a year.  At its peak, 25,000 people lived in Virginia City. It was called the richest city in America because of the silver mines and the wealth it created. Today, the
    population
is just under 1000 people.  It retains its historic character with many restored buildings and
museums.  Virginia City was declared a National Historic Landmark district in 1961.
    Fun Fact:
Virginia City is considered the birthplace of Mark Twain - the pen name for Samuel Clemens.  He first used the pen name when working for the local newspaper.
    Fun Fact:
The Virginia and Truckee Railroad rebuilt a portion of the line from Virginia City to Gold Hill.  They provide tourist excursions.
