Peppermill Hotel Casino History:
The Peppermill opened in 1971 as the Peppermill Coffee Shop and Lounge by two lifelong friends Nat Carasali and Bill Paganetti. In 1980, the Peppermill opened a small casino and motor lodge. Today the property has over 1,600 rooms, 100,000+ sq. ft. of gaming space, a convention center and spa along with 10 restaurants.
A Green Resort - In 2009, the Peppermill began using geothermal energy to heat water throughout the resort. They invested .7 million and now the entire resort (over 2 million sq. ft.) is on-line heating both space and domestic water with geothermal energy. The drilling went as far as 4,400 deep.
What is a Silver Strike?
A Silver Strike is a Limited Edition Gaming Token which is won from a special slot machine and is in a protective plastic holder. People from all over the world collect, buy, sell and trade these unique gaming tokens. The first Silver Strikes were won from special slot machines in the Reno/Tahoe area of Nevada in 1992. The tokens have been issued with redeemable values of , , , , , , , 0 and 0. The most common denomination is . Older Silver Strikes have a higher silver content. As the price of silver increased, the silver content decreased. Today, most strikes are Clad - brass with heavy silver plating.
