    About the Sahara:
    The Sahara is back!!
Club Bingo was the first casino built on the site of the Sahara in 1947.  By 1952, the owner of Club Bingo built the Hotel Sahara, a Moroccan themed resort.  It was branded as "The Jewel of the Desert". Over the years, the Sahara Hotel and Casino went through a few ownership changes along with many improvements and renovations.  It was a retreat and playground for many celebrities in the 1950's and '60's.  In 2007, the resort was sold again- but this time it was shut down as it was not "economically viable".  All of the interior items were sold off and liquidated.  Owner and CEO, Sam Nazarian, then re-opened the resort as SLS Las Vegas in 2014. The SLS was sold again in 2018 with plans of 0 million in renovations and a re-branding.  It was announced in June 2019 that the name would be changed back to Sahara Las Vegas.
